Agenda
Ballots needed to be "selected": 40
<== Was NOT selected
Note:
Bylaws from County Web site, page 2 and top of page 3:
Board members shall be selected by a vote of eligible Village citizens on an annual basis at a regular town hall meeting, and shall consist of those citizens receiving at least a majority of the votes
cast. If more than one candidate receives a majority, those receiving the most votes shall be elected.
A "majority of the votes cast means "50% rounded down plus 1" The follows Roberts Rules of Order. Please note that the
Clackamas County Complete Community Advisory Board "Villages at Mt. Hood"
is an advisory board to the BCC. As such it conforms to County ordinances concerting advisory boards.Advisory boards are appointed by the BCC. => In this case the BCC has chosen, subject to their review/approval/removal, to have the citizens of a community select, from a set of pre-approved candidates, those the community wishes to have represent the community on the advisory board. So, if anyone thinks the "show" we just had at the town hall is an "election" in the Oregon election sense, I have a bridge over a river near Brooklyn, New York..... Note: this date is per County and BOD web sites
